Story: Blasted starts when businessman Sebastian (Bøyum) is trying to land a big client Kasper (Sørum). Struggling to land the pitch, he invites him to his bachelor party. Audun (Luppichini) and Pelle (Hallert) host the party, with surprise guess childhood friend Mikkel (Skogsrud). The two haven’t seen each other in years.
The five head to the remote cabin for drinks and the party. Unaware of what has been happening in the local woodland area, an alien invasion has started. The five turned to a paintball event, stepping into get their own weapons and heading into the woods. Learning they will need to fight back against alien invaders.

Characters
Sebastian has become a workaholic, preparing to get married and having his biggest work pitch. The pressure is getting to him as the pitch doesn’t go well. He panics inviting the client to his bachelor party, wanting to use it to impress him. Sebastian becomes a selfish figure, ignoring his childhood friend, and using his work colleagues. Needing to learn the most important part of his life, while battling to survive.
Mikkel is a childhood friend who used to play laser tag with Sebastian. He is still trapped within that world, never growing up as Sebastian did. Coming to the party with arms wide open and stories the rest never heard. Trying to break Sebastian out of his stuck-up ways.
Kasper is the client that Sebastian is trying to impress. He wants flash presentations and accepts the idea of a party weekend. Turning up in his fancy sports car to show what he is expecting. He is rude to everyone, as he walks over everyone he meets.
Audun and Pelle are the final two at the party. Audun has arranged everything but hasn’t planned for the wild. Pelle is a laidback figure that wants to relax through each incident.
Hjørdis is the local sheriff, expecting her first child and is used to hearing the stories of aliens. She doesn’t believe the stories presented to her until things get too close to home. Stine is the scientist who becomes infected in the opening sequence. She leads the other infected humans, becoming the leader of the aliens invading.
Performances
Axel Bøyum as the overworking man shows us how life can take over the fun people need in life. Showing the paranoid figure, he has become when it comes to being successful in life. Fredrik Skogsrud is fun in the slacker role. Being the one that never grew up, but is still enjoying his laidback life.
Ingrid Bolsø Berdal is great in the cop role that is against what would be expected from her. Mixing a lot of the Frances McDormand Fargo role into her comedy. Andre Sørum, Mathias Luppichini and Eirik Hallert complete the main cast. They play into the stereotypes very well, getting the laughs along the way.
Story
The story follows two former childhood friends that reunite for a bachelor party. They have gone down very different life paths. Needing to put aside their differences to fight back against an alien invasion.
The movie will take us into a fun story. One that will tackle the alien invasion, as well as the need to have friends around you. Proving in life you need to relax at times, never taking things too seriously. This will borrow from other comedy sci-fi movies, even if it has enough to make it stand out alone.
Themes
The Blasted is a sci-fi comedy involving an alien invasion. This will show the alien invasion is like a zombie outbreak. With the movements and possessed state. The remote location with a reputation for alien sightings helps create an area where this could happen. With the rumours being the main reason, nobody is taking it seriously. The idea that laser guns are the best means of defence adds to the comedy.
Final Thoughts – Blasted is a great fun sci-fi comedy, offering laughs all the way through.
