For most people with a pulse it was obvious from the beginning that the Obama administration was going to blame the Israelis for the failure of peace talks. I predicted it and I was far from alone.
Stage four of the non-peace process is this:
4) The PA and the EU and the Obama administration place the blame for failure at Jewish feet.Well, lo and behold. It is shocking I know, but the prominent Israeli newspaper, Y-Net, is now reporting that high-level, anonymous American officials (the Fresno Zionist suspects Martin Indyk and David Makovsky) are blaming the failure of talks on the so-called "settlements."
This, of course, is precisely the very mistake that the Obama administration made directly out of the gate in 2009. Instead of focusing on the problem of genocidal Jew Hatred reeking from the Arab world, the Obama administration decided that the real problem was that Jews were living in Judea and thereby confirmed the racist belief of Mahmoud Abbas and the PA that any new state of "Palestine" must be Judenrein.
They have clearly learned nothing. We read from the anonymous American "diplomats":
"The negotiations had to start with a decision to freeze settlement construction. We thought that we couldn't achieve that because of the current makeup of the Israeli government, so we gave up. We didn't realize Netanyahu was using the announcements of tenders for settlement construction as a way to ensure the survival of his own government. We didn't realize continuing construction allowed ministers in his government to very effectively sabotage the success of the talks."The negotiations had to start with a decision to freeze settlement construction, they claim.
Why?
Why are Jews the only people on the planet wherein American governments concern themselves with where we happen to live? Excuse me, but Jews have been living in that small corner of the planet for something like 4,000 years. We've been there so long that we don't even know how long we have been there. The Jewish presence on that land dissolves into pre-history. We know when the Arabs showed up and started ringing necks. It was in the 7th century that the Arabs conquered the Land of Israel and put all non-Muslims under the system of oppression and persecution known as dhimmitude.
And, furthermore, these brilliant diplomats and analysts conclude that the Netanyahu government intentionally sabotaged the peace process?
The Netanyahu government, to its considerable disgrace, freed the murderer of a Holocaust survivor, among the many other dozens of murderers of Jews on the PA payroll.
For these analysts and diplomats and Obama administration officials to not grasp the basic notion that it is the Arab majority, not the Jewish minority, which refuses to make peace clearly demonstrates that US policy concerning the conflict is not grounded in history and therefore simply cannot succeed.
It seems like no one is learning from the past.
A basic comprehension of the history of the Arab-Israel conflict is absolutely necessary for people who presume to try to end the ongoing aggression against the Jews of the Middle East. How many times must the local Arabs refuse a negotiated conclusion of hostilities before American negotiators come to understand that, perhaps, the real problem here is not the Jews, but those who seek to kill the Jews for daring to live where Arabs do not want us to live?
Israel gave up the Sinai and it gave up Gaza and it is willing to give up much of the Jewish heartland in Judea and Samaria, but no matter what Israel offers the vicious little bastards in Hamas and Fatah and the PLO and the PA absolutely - as a matter of religious conscious, no less - refuse to give up their hatred of the Jewish people and opposition to a Jewish sovereign presence on historically Jewish land.
What emphatically does not help the situation are progressive-left diaspora Jewish moral narcissists who have come to accept the "Palestinian narrative" of pristine victim-hood as a story with merit or even a story that should be taught to impressionable Jewish teenagers in Israel, if not elsewhere.
The American "diplomats" argued:
"There are a lot of reasons for the peace effort's failure, but people in Israel shouldn't ignore the bitter truth - the primary sabotage came from the settlements. The Palestinians don't believe that Israel really intends to let them found a state when, at the same time, it is building settlements on the territory meant for that state. We're talking about the announcement of 14,000 housing units, no less. Only now, after talks blew up, did we learn that this is also about expropriating land on a large scale. That does not reconcile with the agreement."The bottom line is that the Obama administration has taken the racist Arab view that Jews should not be allowed to live in any "Palestinian" state and therefore if we build housing for ourselves on traditional Jewish land it somehow prevents Abbas and Netanyahu from drawing a line on a map.
From a strategic stand-point Obama administration policy has been a wretched failure in the Middle East for the obvious reason that it has not seriously encouraged the Palestinian-Arabs to come to a peace agreement with the Palestinian-Jews. This is bad enough, of course, but from an ethical stand-point Barack Obama and his people are encouraging the notion that the Jews of the Middle East are malicious trespassers on our own land.
And that is considerably worse because it encourages ongoing malice and violence toward the Jewish people.
