I’m not adverse to a little hedgerow foraging every once in a while and now is when you are most likely to see me on tip-toes trying to reach those blackberries that look tastier than all the others!
As time was limited today the bounty is not that great (a few may also have been eaten whilst foraging!). Luckily I have found the perfect way to use even the most meagre of harvests.
Blackberry Cocktail
50ml gin
20ml lemon juice
20ml sugar syrup
3 blackberries and extra to decorate
Muddle the blackberries in the bottom of a small glass. Pour the other ingredients into a shaker. Shake. Add half of this mixture to your blackberries, fill the glass with crush ice, then pour over the remaining half. Add a straw and garnish with a blackberry or two.
