Black Peaks have released new single ‘Home’ and announced details of a new album and extensive UK and EU tour. Produced by Grammy Award-winning Adrian Bushby, the Brighton band’s second album ‘All That Divides’ will be released on 5 October through Rise Records/BMG (pre-order ">">here) and you’ll be able to catch the band at so many festivals this summer – including 2000 Trees, ArcTanGent and Reading.
‘Home’ offers a tantalising glimpse of what’s to come on this album. It opens with Will Gardner’s powerful vocals looking back at how important your home country is in shaping you – but how it can also let you down: ‘Home, where we grow. Home, all we know… All we’ve lost’. Written while on tour as the Brexit referendum took place, this song finds the band explaining how disconnected they felt as others made a decision they didn’t agree with and how this also affected their personal relationships at the time. With towering and progressive guitars, there’s an element of hope as Will screams of getting ‘out of the dark’ but the scars this divisive decision have left are still raw: ‘Forced to fly away. What becomes when we run home?’
