‘Black Panther’ Set Was Like Church With Cast Sharing Their Testimonies

Nigerian born actress, Sope Aluko who stars in Marvels Black Panther, recently described shooting the record breaking film as… “Almost like a church.”

Aluko, who portrays Shaman, one of the spiritual leaders shared with Okay Africa that many members of the cast and crew ‘testified’ to feeling the presence of God while shooting Black Panther.

‘During breaks, we shared our testimony of how we got to where [we] did and most of the people were testifying to God’s miracles, it was almost like a church,’ Aluko said.

When asked about having a “scandal free” career, the actress credits God and the spirit of discernment.

I am thankful I don’t have any scandals and I thank God, but I also know that the acting industry is so different from it was 10 years ago. Now, we have social media and that just opens an actor to so many things. Things can be seen and heard simultaneously around the world and wrong information can be misconstrued on social media.

She continued,

The only thing I try my best to do is to be very conscious and I also keep my family close because I know that they are most important to me. I just ask the Lord for discernment and wisdom for every single step that I take and I pray I continue to be scandal free.

Black Panther is in theaters now.
