A small group of protesters marched tonight from Lafayette Square, near the White House, through downtown Washington D.C. and then on a highway from the city to northern Virginia.
Protesters could be seen on a video of the CNN WJLA affiliate exiting DC, using the inbound and outbound lanes of Interstate 395.
The group was peaceful and the music resounded as they walked. At one point, demonstrators and doctors knelt on the highway.
Police cars were seen following the demonstrators from a distance, but the demonstrators were allowed to continue on their way.
A separate group of protesters did the same on the same road, slightly further north.
There were a few protests in DC throughout Saturday, but they did not attract large crowds.
