Issa Rae is being honored with the Star Power award:
This year in particular has been bigger than any other for Issa Rae.
She was celebrated as the Rising Star at the American Black Film Festival Honors presented by BET.
She was recently honored at the 10th annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards & Gala alongside Janelle Monae, Aja Naomi King and Yara Shahidi.
Not to mention, the 12th annual Final Draft awards ceremony, which recognizes specific film and TV releases from the past year, and presented The New Voice award to Issa Rae for her excellent work co-creating, starring and executive producer HBO’s Insecure.
