With the appeal of the bright coloured lace triangular style bra I had to share with you a few recent purchases from Bjorn Borg and La Senza, both of which are at the forefront of an exploding color palette. Underwear is a relatively personal thing with each and every one of us not only having our own individual tastes, but also requiring different products and opting for different brands to meet specific needs. I originally had my eye on the Topshop High Apex Lace Triangle Bra £12, which is available in an array of bold and pigmented colours, however, for lingerie I will always pay significantly more for a credited lingerie brand, so as an inexpensive alternative, I opted for the super pretty Bjorn Borg Soft Love Lace Bras for their classic fit, longline lace underband and high quality finish (the department store I purchased them in had 25% off. Win!). Whilst spending a pretty long time trying to select 'just' two out of the beautiful selection of colours that were on offer inc. aqua, pale pink, yellow and white, to name a few, I wanted a statement color that would get heads turning, whether it would be revealing the straps with a baggy oversized tee or showing off the lace detail under the arm with a low, scooped style vest top.
These bras are a fun and playful way to add interest to an outfit, but are also perfect for those with a smaller bust that can experiment with bras with little or no support. The lingerie manikins on display in the department store mixed it up by displaying the Bjorn Borg designs as un-made sets, teaming contrasting and clashing coloured lace undies with opposing lace bras. I loved the lace french style Bjorn Borg undies, however I popped along to the La Senza sale (which is huge) and picked up some high shine silk pants at £4 a piece to make up a set with the Bjorn Borg bras. I wanted bright colours to create an individual and unique set so opted for a bright blue/turquoise and a green. I particularly loved the silk texture and the ruched detail at the back.
