In the past few hours, the price of Bitcoin has gone over $60,000 per coin after an attack on former President Donald Trump, who is expected to be the Republican nominee for president in 2024.

During a campaign gathering, Trump was attacked, but he was able to stay alive and evacuated to safety. CoinGecko says that Bitcoin’s price rose from $58,337 to $60,224 just a few hours after the news came out. This was the highest price in the last week.

But rises in Bitcoin aren’t nearly as big as gains in Trump-themed joke coins. The biggest rise was in TREMP, which went from $0.66 to 71 percent in 24 hours. Trump’s popularity went up by 39%, and Trump’s popularity went up by 33%.

Trump has become a strong supporter of cryptocurrency, setting himself apart from Joe Biden, who is running against him in the upcoming race.

Some crypto investors and bettors think Trump’s campaign will pick up speed in the coming months after he survived the attempt on his life. They also believe the crypto business will have better access to regulatory relief if Trump wins than if Biden stays in office.
