Bingeworthy Shows for the Long Winter Months

By Lisaorchard @lisaorchard1

Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you. I’m back today after a week of work and writing. The holidays are coming soon, and I’m looking forward to them. It’s hibernation season at the Orchard home. This time of year, we wrap up in blankets in front of the fire and binge watch Netflix and other shows. Since my last few posts have been serious, I thought I’d do something fun and give you all a list of bingeworthy shows to watch during the cold winter months. So, without further ado, here they are!

BREAKING BAD

This show is still one of my all time faves. The character development was phenomenal. It’s action packed and gritty with many humorous moments. You’ll come to love Walter White, and you’ll want him to win even though he’s a bad guy.

BETTER CALL SAUL

This show is a spin-off from Breaking Bad, and what a show it is. You’ll find yourself rooting for Jimmy McGill the lawyer who steps over the line of the law. He’s the loveable underdog in the show who just can’t quite overcome his demons.

THE OZARKS

This show is another one that has you on the edge of your seat. It’s one of those shows where extraordinary circumstances force an ordinary guy into making life-altering decisions. It takes on a life of its own, and the secondary characters grow and develop right along with the main characters.

MINDHUNTER

This show takes you back to the time when profiling was in its infancy. It takes you into the minds of serial killers, and shows you what makes them tick. It’s educational to say the least. Showing you the dark side of human nature.

HOMELAND

If you like Political Thrillers, this one is for you. Full of intrigue and spies, it’ll keep you guessing. Hubby and I watched this series twice because there were so many moving parts.

LOUDERMILK

This show took me by surprise. I clicked on it just to see what it was about, and it drew me in. Hilariously funny and off the beaten path, it’s a nice reprieve from some of the darker events happening today. The things that happen to these cast of characters make you laugh and cry at the same time.

THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE

Another show that surprised me. It’s based on the theory of “what if the Nazis had won World War II?” It illustrates what life might have been like in an alternate universe. It pulls you in right away and doesn’t let go.

THE DIPLOMAT

This show is right up there for political thrillers. I enjoyed the intrigue and the twist and turns. Right now, there are only two seasons out, but the third one is on the way. It’s sure to be a good one.

THE AMERICANS

This is another one of those political thrillers. It’s the story of two Russian spies undercover in the United States, posing as a normal American family. It’s intriguing and captures your attention right from the beginning.

TRUE DETECTIVE

I love crime shows, and this one did not disappoint. I’m hoping another season is coming. Filled with action and intrigue, the characters are achingly human and raw. Definitely a must watch!

So there you have it, ten shows I enjoyed over the last couple of years. A great way to spend a cold evening in front of a warm fire with your significant other. Especially if you’re like us, and you hibernate in the winter months. How about you, do you have any shows you’d recommend? Leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you!
