AI Chatbox Chat GPT is going to get a major upgrade soon. The company is preparing to add Bing as a search engine to the platform. This means that ChatGPT will now answer users’ questions by searching data from Bing. To that end, the AI chatbox will get a much-needed upgrade, adding Bing as its search engine and further cementing the growing relationship between Microsoft and developer OpenAI. Come, read below to know about it in detail.

Bing coming to ChatGPT

Microsoft has announced in the build conference held yesterday i.e. May 23, 2023 that Bing is being brought as the default search engine in ChatGPT. Additionally, the company has also revealed that it is expanding the integration of Bing Chat into Microsoft’s CoPilots. Apart from this, the company has also announced that GPT-4 based Windows Copilot will be introduced in Windows 11 in June.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said during his keynote that the company is bringing Search Grounding and Bing to ChatGPT.

Bing will be based on the plugin

Bing suddenly won’t show up in ChatGPT. It is based on a plugin that Microsoft has created for the ChatGPT platform and will roll out to the premium ChatGPT+ (which is based on GPT-4). Nadella said it would be available for the free version of ChatGPT “soon”. However, to use it, users simply have to enable a plugin that brings Bing to ChatGPT. Through this integration, users will now be able to get more up to date answers with access from the web.

Microsoft made these other announcements

Microsoft also announced that it is bringing AI based virtual assistant Windows Copilot to Windows 11. It works like Copilot, which the company has already announced in Edge and its Office apps suite.

Windows 11 users will have a chatbot in the sidebar, which will answer all the questions. Copilot will be integrated into Windows 11 and will be accessible from the taskbar. The tool will begin becoming available in Windows 11 Preview in June.

Using Bing as a search engine can make ChatGPT even more useful for users.
