Biking: Night Ride in UP Diliman Month 2013 with Peypey

By Thesilentpal @thesilentpal

The  cheapest way to go around the city is to either walk, run or better yet ride a bike. It’s my wife’s nephew John Paul first time here in Metro Manila and wanted to visit some places and I think everybody wants to do that when they are coming from the province and just visit the big city. As a host, I invited him to join me in a night ride going to UP Diliman and it just in time that there is an even the well-known university but I only have only one bike and my bike was like months old back in February 2013 so I had to loan a bike from my then land lord who trust me enough to take care of his son’s BMX bike.

Me and John Paul are ready for our night ride, no blinkers no problem we share one blinker and I let him wear my helmet, then I drove the BMX one at this night ride going to UP, we came all the way down from Bgy. Holy Spirit, QC and take the Commonwealth, Tandang Sora Road. It was difficult for me to guide him because he is not used to fast cars along the killer high way so I need to be close as possible to him to avoid any accident.

Our first stop is at the UP Oblation Statue where as usual I will have my so-called Kalongkong (signature) Pose, then John Paul or Popoy as we call him wanted to grab that tiny thing up there, if you know what I mean haha.

Then next we visited Kara David’s residence inside UP Campus where took solo shots of the front gate.

Then we visited Mike’s (my brother, who is an UP graduate) let me guess fave building if not most memorable one as film student. Look CINE ADARNA now showing Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1 & 2. Too bad it was past 7pm already and Popoy haven’t got a chance to go inside the UP Theater.

Then we visited the University Hotel. I wonder if non-students where allow to book at this hotel, I didn’t dare to ask, hahaha. :-D

Then we go straight at the concert venue at the UP Sunken Garden.

We are here at the concert stage but the bad news is no more tickets at that tonight. So we tried to stay outside and listen to the jam and took some pictures of the event that is taking place including bike selfies.

I got bored a little when I couldn’t go inside the concert hall so I then I decided to look for something to eat and we found this very well known street food called “Isaw” – it’s the chicken or pork’s stomach grilled with charcoal and dip with vinegar, onions and chilli. We consume it at home instead.

My wife was really surprised on this one as my son tries to hang on and sleep in her lap.

See how she love it, she almost wanted to eat them all out of the stick. Haha! All our tummies were very satisfied that night, while Popoy tell unending stories to his Tita about our night ride.  He wishes to come back again, sooner! Haha!
