Watching making has one of the richest histories in all of manufacturing and regularly honours the past by looking back for inspiration for the future. Schaffhausen has decided to celebrate its long association with pilots and the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation by launching the The Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition as homage to ‘The Little Prince’ which was published 70 years ago this year. This new special additional features a number of highlights including automatic winding providing a 7 day power reserve. This is more than sufficient to run the perpetual calendar with a day, date, month and four digit year display. An 18 carat gold medallion on the rotor features the little prince and can be admired through the sapphire-glass back. In this limited run only 270 watches will be made and will contain a reproduction of the first edition in English of ‘The Little Prince’ and a reprint of the original manuscript.
