Best Moments of 2014

By Appraisingpages @appraisjngpages

2015Everyone else is doing it, so why shouldn’t I?  2014 was a great year for AppraisingPages and it’s time to celebrate!  So before I get too tipsy it’s time to tip my hat (see what I did there?) to some of my most favorite moments from the past year.

  • Our Etsy shop Grand Re-Opening

When our previous supplier raised their prices on our merchandise we went right back to the drawing board – literally – and started doing it all ourselves.  It was an insane undertaking but the response has been overwhelming and it’s been nothing but a fun ride.  Check out our Etsy shop to see what we have for you!

  • Bookish Valentine Gifts

I love this compilation Justine put together of romantic ideas for book lovers.  What connects me and the people I love is our mutual love of books, so this one struck my heart like an arrow.

  • Divergent Event & Giveaway

This one was OBVIOUSLY fun because a) it was a giveaway and b) it included merch from MILES TELLER. Even though I didn’t make it into the advanced screening, it was totally worth it to see Miles and Kai and get our merchandise signed by them.

  • Review: WE NEED NEW NAMES by NoViolet Bulawayo

This review makes the cut because not only did I love the book but the review was so easy to write because I learned so much.  I mean, look at that paragraph.  The review practically wrote itself and WE NEED NEW NAMES reminded me of why I love reading so much in the first place.

  • Movie Giveaway of Advanced Screening Passes to THE FAULT IN OUR STARS

So this one might seem a little lame and basic but you have no idea how much work went into securing those passes for our readers.  There were so many favors called in, emails sent, phone calls made, hold times waited through, and even more coordination to make it all happen.  It was all worth it for such a great night, though.

  • Review: FANGIRL by Rainbow Rowell

This is one of my most favorite books that I’ve read this year.  And, it’s always fun to get to include a bunch of super talented fan art, like below:

Fangirl 8

Rainbow Rowell ALSO favorited this review, so I might be a little biased.

Those are my favorite posts of the year, but I can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store!  What were the best moments of your year?
