Best Battery-powered Security Cameras of 2020

Not just battery powered Security cameras They offer more installation flexibility than their wired counterparts. As a rule, they also have weatherproof housings for use in your garden. That said, you can install a wireless surveillance camera on a fence, in a tree, or pretty much anywhere as long as your Wi-Fi network reaches it. To improve your home security system, keep an eye on your home and help deter intruders.

I chose three models that I particularly liked for a number of reasons, though I took into account things like video quality, field of view, whether it offers a mobile app, and shooting options when connecting to your existing one intelligent home Setup and of course battery life. The Arlo Pro 3 is my favorite all-round camera. Period. Since it happens to be battery powered too, it's my favorite for this list. I like Blink XT2 for its reasonable price - $ 100 - and its long battery life (up to two years). The third and last camera in the list, the Logitech Circle 2offers a wide range of compatible accessories to further expand battery-powered convenience (and as a surveillance camera that runs on battery power, it's already quite practical). So keep reading if you are looking for the best battery powered surveillance camera that will suit your wireless outdoor space Security needs.

The Arlo Pro 3 home security camera is battery powered, so you can attach it to a tree or fence without having to worry about an annoying power cord. This wireless camera is also weatherproof to combat the elements and is said to last for a few months depending on use with a single charge. Basically, it's absolutely perfect for outdoor security.

In addition to its practical battery, the Pro 3 has numerous outstanding functions: a built-in siren; Activation / deactivation modes; and motion alarms for people, animals, vehicles and packages (with an optional Arlo Smart subscription). The device also enables bidirectional communication and has both color and black and white night vision to get a crystal clear view of what is going on in your garden. And the video quality is top notch.

If you want to integrate your outdoor wireless surveillance camera into your existing smart home system, Pro 3 works with Alexa and Google Assistant. Read our Arlo Pro 3 review.

The Blink XT2 costs $ 100. You get a battery-powered camera and a sync module for your money. The sync module is intended to extend the battery life of the camera and helps the app and the camera to communicate via a radio signal.

If you already have a sync module from a previous Blink purchase, you should also be able to use it with the XT2. In this case, you only need to buy the standalone camera for $ 90. And at that price, you might as well get a couple for an entire surveillance camera system.

The camera has 1080p HD live streaming, alerts, free cloud storage, night vision and weatherproof housing. It sends push notifications to your smartphone via an app when the sensor detects movement. The weatherproof device also offers bidirectional communication. It is powered by two AA lithium metal batteries, which should have a lifespan of up to two years.

I've been testing one since July 2019 - and it's still strong. The Blink XT2 works with Alexa. Read more about the Blink XT2.

The Logitech Circle 2 is available in two versions - the wired model for $ 180 and the battery-powered model for $ 200. I checked the wired model but spent time testing both.

The battery-powered Circle 2 is a solid camera. Like the Pro 3 and Blink XT2, the Circle 2 connects to your wireless network and is weatherproof. It has 1080p HD live streaming for crystal clear picture, night vision, bidirectional speaking and a time-lapse function. It should last between one and three months with a load. It also offers free 24-hour cloud storage that stores motion-based videos for 10 to 60 seconds. Push notifications are sent to your phone via app when the camera detects motion.

It also works with a variety of accessories - the $ 30 connector bracket, a $ 40 window bracket, and a $ 20 magnetic bracket. If you use either the plug or the window mount with your battery-powered Circle 2 camera, it works with Siri (via Apple HomeKit and HomeKit Secure Video) and with the standard support for Amazon Alexa.

Annoyingly, the battery-powered Circle 2 Apple HomeKit doesn't support a window mount without a plug or accessories. (Read more from Logitech here.) Read our review of Circle 2 (wired model).
