Berry Deliciousness.
I don’t know about you, but yesterday I ate a little too much… And then ate some more. It was awesome. We grilled chicken burgers with pineapple and swiss cheese topped with jalape単os and ranch, {sounds a bit weird… but they were sooo yummy!} At my husband’s request I also made Strawberry Rhubarb pie for the first time ever! I was a bit nervous at first, because his grandmother used to make it for him when he was a kid… and who can compete with “Grandma’s” secret recipes? Seriously why even try?! But I came across this recipe on Food Network’s site {I guess it was on the Great American Pie Cook-off}. Ok, with that I was sold…and seriously I am so glad I tried it! Now I have to share the goodness with all of you. So here goes…
“Grandma’s Strawberry Rhubarb Pie”

I made a few modifications… I did use the crust recipe, however I did multiple pies… and one pie I followed the recipe exact for the two layer crust… but I made two mini pies as well and made criss cross crust on those two… {pictured below}. I also followed a few of the reviews for the filling and used 3 teaspoons of the tapioca instead of 2, and used 3 Cups of each fruit instead of 2.5 and it was to die for!}
