Bermondsey Square, London – Public Square

By Davis Landscape Architecture @DavisLandArch

Bermondsey Square is a flexible public open space which accommodates an antique market one a week. It was designed by East Architectural, Landscape & Urban Design. The space is enclosed by a Georgean terrace and a newly built mixed used developments. The surface finish is constructed of dark clay brick with lighter banding and forms a single ground plane from building edge to building edge. Onto this surface objects are placed, these are in the form of sculptural bollards and elongated wooden benches. The objects within this space control the movement of vehicular traffic.
