From my personal experience gathered at time of my  service life, I had a posting different region of India where I came across natives and their techniques of healing locally to any health issues also since child hood I have seen treatment of many health issues with spices especially advices of my grand ma, sometimes my elder uncle or rarely my father (who were available few times at home due to his busy service life) . Our Indian cuisine is useless unless we use spice and enjoy their surprising health benefits.

It has a lot of benefits, because no other plant has been held out for so long as a cure for so many human ailments. This simple  ingredients has health benefits like treatment of common cold, skin boils, increase sexual ability, joint pain relief, lowarise cholesterol, high blood pressure, liver disorders, alcohol induced liver injury, control diabetics, cancer. Remember it is one of the worming food as per Indian culture. Scientific name Allium sativum, commonly known as Garlic is a species in the onion genus. It has a long healing history throughout many cultures for more than 7000 years. The composition of the bulbs is approximately 84.09% water, 13.38% organic matter, and 1.53% inorganic matter, while the leaves are 87.14% water, 11.27% organic matter, and 1.59% inorganic matter.
The single Garlic bulb which is very very rarely available in market is the main product thing which is mostly used as medicine. If you don’t get the said one, you can use the commonly available Garlic in food market.
Crushed or chewed Garlic yields allicin, an antibiotic and anti-fungal compound which is Anti- viral, anti-bacterial, it promotes the growth of your white blood cells. 

How to intake Garlic as Medicine:


You need to chew one or two raw single piece (a peeled garlic clove unit) from a Garlic bulb before going to sleep. While chewing it generates lots of heat and you may not resist that heat. Alternatively you may take boiled clove units. Remember to chew with warm water or milk and then swallow. Chewing is important because your liver will digest it easily otherwise it will produce gas and you know the after effect ... milk will help you to get rid of bad garlic smells from your mouth.

Garlic helps to regulate the formation of fat cells in our body. This way it helps prevent wait gain and reduce wait.

Use Garlic to prevent Heart Attack:

Garlic may prevent heart attack. You will wonder to know that, researchers at Emory University School of Medicine found that it helps protect the heart during cardiac surgery and after a heart attack. As per Ayurveda, Garlic helps to prevent blood clots from forming, thus reducing the possibility of Strokes.

Use Garlic in case of Alcohol-induced liver injury:

A person who is consuming too much alcohol or alcoholic beverages can be victim of liver injury. The researchers of Institute of Toxicology has found that Garlic may benefit to protect alcoholic or ethanol induced liver injury. 

Use Garlic to prevent Cancer:

Garlic and Green Chilli protects our body from cell size increasing. The Indian senior native people believes that these two spices fight against cancer and prevent this health disease. The modern research also highlights utility of Garlic in Cancer cases like lung cancer, prostate cancer, stomach cancer, rectal cancer, colon cancer and especially incidence of breast cancer among women. 

Other Benefits:

Garlic helps to remove heavy metals such as lead and mercury from the body. Prevent certain tumors from growing larger and reduces the size of certain tumors, can still kill some strains of bacteria that have become immune or resistant to modern antibiotics.

Thus eating Garlic too many lead to night falls or risk of bleeding particularly during pregnancy. Garlic allergy includes skin rash, temperature and headaches. It also causes bad breath (you can get rid if you chew with milk and then swallow) as well as sweats to have a strong smell of garlic. It produces gas if not digested well but don’t stop for this reason, taking on a regular basis you may get habituated and there your body will start absorbing.
Lastly I would like to add that, in Indian Culture we use to avoid eating these warming foods one day in a week and keep fasting for at-least one part of a single day. That helps our body balance the digestive system and smoothening of blood circulation. If you do this you will feel healthy and be satisfied guaranteed.
