
Benefits have shared the video for ‘Blame’, a pulsating song that features on their new album ‘Constant Noise’ (out now). Taking you back to the more hedonistic sound of 90s dance, there are nods to Leftfield, Underworld and various other acts that could and should have featured on the Trainspotting soundtrack.
The pummeling bass lays beneath a distorted and exasperated monolog about modern life and the ‘fake news’ that so many choose to believe: ‘Too many years depressed, distressed or pissed as I’ve grown up to be a statistic’. There’s also talk of how ‘all those riches will buy them success’ before the admission that ‘Yes, I’m getting it loud and clear. So loud, so loud, so loud, so loud… Blame!’
