Ben Kweller has shared the video for new song ‘Dollar Store’, the second single to be taken from upcoming album ‘Cover the Mirrors’ (out on 30 May).
The album is Ben’s first since his son Dorian Zev died in 2023 and ‘Dollar Store’ finds him talking about walking away, hiding and facing panic attacks – all against guitar hooks reminiscent of My Morning Jacket or Conor Oberst.
There’s real, raw emotion in the vocal delivery of the chorus – ‘I’m looking at the sky, it’s raining’ – and Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield’s cameo just add that extra layer of heart.
