The latest Rabbanut kashrut newsletter contained an interesting update Ben and Jerry's ice cream (in Israel) that might be of particular interest to some people.
According to the Rabbanut some buckets of ice cream are being sold with labels that state the ice cream is kosher lamehadrin, while also stating that the ice cream contains "cholov nochri powder".
According to the rules, they are not allowed to call it mehadrin if ti contains the cholov nochri powder, but only regular kosher.
Ben and Jerry's says it was a labeling error and have promised to fix it.
Just be aware of it, and check the labels carefully, if you are someone who eats Ben and Jerry's but only the mehadrin flavors..
