Check out their mouth watering cakes

Bell & Felix have just opened and are thankfully are breath of fresh air to the Shawlands cafe scene. Strathbungo seems to have kept ahead in the quality stakes but I’m sure Shawlands will be back!

Mr Foodie started with an Illy flat white, creamy and tasty – not very strong, so just enough to gently awaken for brunch. £2.50

The Earl Grey tea didn’t come with the offer of lemon or milk. Mrs Foodie had it black as it was strong and fragrant. £2.15 from Jenier World of Teas.

Eggs Benedict £6.50. Strong and not overpowering or tepid hollandaise sauce, good amount of ham, perfect eggs and a good chewy muffin.

Full breakfast £7.50 Delicious bacon, crispy fat so we were able to munch away at this. For the cost a choice of egg style would have been good and more info on where the ingredients are from.

One from the specials board, berry bread and butter pudding. French style bread pudding. Moist, creamy and delicious – would be nicer warmer
