Only two can keep a secret if one of them is dead.
It's said that the only people who really know what goes on in a marriage are the couple themselves. But what if even they don't know the truth?
David and Adele seem like the ideal pair. He's a successful psychiatrist, she is his picture-perfect wife who adores him. But why is he so controlling? And why is she keeping things hidden?
Louise, David's new secretary, is intrigued. But as Louise gets closer to each of them, instead of finding answers she uncovers more puzzling questions. The only thing that is crystal clear is that something in this marriage is very, very wrong. But Louise could never have guessed how wrong things really are and just how far someone might go to hide it.

Oh boy, WTF did I just read?
This book had so much potential, and about 99% of the time I was loving it; warped yet fascinating characters, twisted mind games, dark revelations and brilliant misdirection.
In other words, Behind Her Eyes was well on its way to a solid 5/5 rating, tipped to be my favourite book of the month, the kind of book I would rave about to all and sundry.
And then the book turned into a sorry, nonsensical mess, utter nonsense that stripped away everything I'd loved.
SPOILER ALERT: What's with the weird dream sequences and implied hypnotism? Don't get me started on the body swap nonsense. Who was in who's body again? Who cares? Utter drivel. Almost as bad as the end of Revival by Stephen King, an amazing book until the moment King decides to turn it into Lovecraftian nonsense for no apparent reason. The last chapter of the book destroyed everything good about it and I felt like I'd read 99% of an amazing thriller then someone ripped out the last chapter and stapled in the last chapter of a science-fiction romp hoping I wouldn't notice.
My heart is broken.
