Beginning the Foreground in New Abstract Painting

By Abstractartbylt @artbylt

When I couldn't sleep in the middle of the night, I started thinking about the new abstract painting I'm working on.  Then  I realized I'd described the process wrong in yesterday's post.  I drew the curved shapes all in alizarin crimson, not the varied colors I mentioned.  How quickly I forget!

To begin the foreground, I drew zig-zag lines across the canvas, this time actually starting with the darker reds at the bottom and working my way up to lighter orange at the top.  Then I started the slow tedious process of filling in some of the shapes I'd drawn:

Canvas125-4500
  Canvas #125, 44" x 44" acrylic on canvas.

Tomorrow I will continue to fill in the shapes, and then I'll see what I've got.
