Beginning A New Abstract Painting on Canvas

By Abstractartbylt @artbylt

It's nice to get back to color after painting a series in black and white.  In this new abstract painting, I started by covering the whole canvas with a dull turquoise for the background.  After it completely dried, I drew tiny lines over the whole painting to create an overall pattern.

For the lines I used parchment, white, black, cobalt green, unbleached titanium, brilliant blue, and burnt umber.  My goal is to eventually build up the image through lines alone, but I'll see how I feel after this stage dries.
