Beauty Tips and Packing For Festival Season
I'm off to Glastonbury festival this week which I'm rather excited about. I last went to Glastonbury in 2004! So I'm well overdue to attend this amazing festival. Rather gutted Mr Dave Grohl and the Foos won't be there, but I have seen them three times now... but the experience of Glastonbury isn't just about the music it's about the whole thing!
Right, so I've decided you might find this handy if I give you some of my festival tips. There are certain things I struggle with whilst there and also things I believe you need to survive.  Okay so you're not heading to a remote island but you don't want to be paying through the roof whilst you're there, trust me my ticket/travel etc is costing me the same amount as a holiday abroad! Last thing I want to do is spend when I don't need to. I just need to do some prep especially in the beauty department.
Hair Care
First things first is my hair. I wash my hair every other day and it is bleached. I have really sensitive skin so I have to use products that won't irritate it, for example I can only use Fairy washing powder it's that sensitive. With regards to my hair I get a really itchy scalp if I don't wash it, not ideal when I'm stuck in a field for 5 days with no shower. Uh-oh... and just thinking about it is making my head itch! This time I've got a big bottle of fragrance free dry shampoo. Personally I like the Bastiste nourish and enrich to give my hair a refresh, however I will take my talc just incase as it has multiple uses. BUT what do I do about my god dammed itchy scalp? This is new for me and I can't say I've tested it yet but it's coming with me, and that's the Head & Shoulders instant relief scalp soother. Hopefully teamed with dry shampoo... I may just survive without scratching my head off!
Hair Fun
I'm super excited about going to a festival and using colourful powder sprays! I've got a few from Toni&Guy I'm taking with me and I'm also taking hippy headbands, a hat (for when my hair is ready to fall out) and obviously hair grips and bobbles to tie it up.
Prepping
Leave your hair washing routine until the last second, I can't stress this enough as it's the last time you'll be indulging in a lush hot shower! Wash your hair thoroughly and with the least agrevating shampoo possible, I'm using the new Simple Gentle Care shampoo and conditioner at the moment. As it's nice and simple I hopefully won't get any irritation.  I'll then use a hair treatment and leave it on, the one I'm going to use is the John Freida Kelp Help for Beach Blonde hair. After that I won't put any products on it like I would normally, the only thing I will do is put serum on the very ends to stop them from drying out.
Skin prep is a must so as I'm in a waxing routine I've got myself prepped in that department, but I shave the bottom part of my legs and under arms. Firstly make sure you're exfoliating on a regular basis before getting rid of any hair, then have a long slow shaving session (again at the very last point). I suggest smoothering yourself in lotion afterwards is a safe move.
I hate my feet with a passion, lots of running has given my feet no end of damage meaning they aren't the best looking! Ugly feet aside I need to get them spruced up for potentially flip flops and sandals! Soaking my feet is my first stop to soften the skin and nails to tidy them up. I have a Scholl foot exfloliator which is a-m-a-z-i-n-g and that really does help to get your feet looking public worthy. I also suggest tidying up your nails, for me personally my toes nails hate nail polish so I try to keep them nude so they look clean and healthy. I've been using coconut oil on them recently and it's made a huge difference! Next you need to grab that nail file and get buffing... sparkly feet in no time!
