This week one by one my everyday go-to products were slowly becoming empty so a quick trip to Boots & the Body Shop to re-fill. I've become stuck in a rut with my beauty and make-up products so made a real effort to try and few new products this week. Let's begin with the Body Shop. I went in to buy the Lightening Touch Pen £14.00 as this is one of my beauty must-haves (so much so I completely forgot to put it in the photograph above). Because I'm quite run down and under the weather I need to pay a lot of attention to my eyes to keep them looking bright and healthy. This is great for dark circles, blemishes, or break out areas. This product kills two birds with one stone. This product is essentially a 2-1 featuring a fine brush nib for application. I then got to the till & was informed of a 3 for 2 offer on all skincare and make-up which isn't unusual for the Body Shop. After reading several beauty blogs and flicking through magazines I thought the Loose Face Powder £12.50 was worthy of a shot. This ultra-fine loose powder is perfect for setting your make-up and creating a professional matte finish. It's also good for achieving an all-over even coverage. There are four shades, I opted for 03. Next in my 3 for 2 I bought the Honey & Oat 3-In-1 Scrub Mask £10.00. Again as I'm feeling poorly and generally run down my skin needs just an extra bit of attention a couple of times a week to keep it looking fresh and hydrated. This product will cleanse, polish and moisturise in one, and is ideal for normal/dry skin. I applied this twice this week after I'd removed my make-up and left it on for approximately 5-10 minutes. Afterwards I noticed my skin was super soft and any dry patches had been treated. I also was entitled to £5 off another product so I opted for the Brow & Lash Brush & Comb £8.00.
In Boots I stocked up on the VO5 Give Me Texture Dry Texturising Spray with Sea Salt £3.49 which was 2 for £5. I use this product everyday just to add some volume to my hair and create a undone and natural tossled look. Also because it's a dry spray you can apply it all over, including your roots. If your looking for a hair product to add tonnes of volume and texture please look no further. I'm well and truly sold on this product and can't recommend it more. Most of my make-up is No7 so I stocked up on some of the essentials with a few new products. I'm still using the No7 Extreme Length Waterproof Mascara in Black £12.00 and the No7 Stay Perfect Metallic Eyes Pencil £6.50 (see previous write-ups on these two here). Despite being happy with the eyeliner I have found myself sinking back into my liquid eyeliner ways so decided to give the No7 Stay Precise Felt Tip Eyeliner £8.00 a try. This is great for achieving a definite design with that liquid wet look finish. I also want to try a few new eye shadows, sticking with my neutrals and browns eye palette so I bought the No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow Trio £9.50. All these shades are perfect. Especially the lighter shade for lightening up the eye area before applying the brown. As I bought 2 No7 cosmetic products I benefited from a free gift (see my Instagram here) which was this gorgeous ballerina style make-up bag which included some gorgeous products. I also bought the Rimmel Glam' Eyes Professional Liquid Liner in Black £5.29 as I have used this product on and off for about 4 years & am slowly weening myself back onto liquid liner. I think it's because its more dramatic and definite and that's what I like to try and achieve in my eye make-up on a daily basis.
If you have not seen my Instagram you must go and see it now, even before you read on. I opted for the Broadway Nails Fast French - Pink - Medium £6.45 which come with 24 nails in 12 different sizes so you can match them up perfectly with your existing nails. I've been using them the last 6-8 weeks as I wanted a perfect base to enable my nail polishes to stay on longer without chipping. I was a bit wary when I first bought them as I expected them to ping off like the old school nail glue ones did. These don't and I can honestly say mine last about 3 weeks at a time. They don't ruin your nails like the salon acrylics and underneath my nails have grown pretty damn strong. I also love how they enhance the nail polish color and create a perfect, polished look. They are natural looking and feel like my own nails. I've had acrylic nails put on in the past, and now I've used the Broadway Nails I wouldn't look back. I'm so sold on this product and will be using them for months to come. I would recommend these over salon acrylics any day.
Happy Mothers Day! Hope you've all had a lovely weekend, I'm off for tea & cake.
