Thimisy really made our hearts melt with this beautiful summer wedding in Paphos! Nicole and Colin tied the knot in front of a floral arch filled with romantic white blooms and light orange roses that perfectly completed the rest of the scene. “The moments alone with the photographer were our favourite”, Nicole said to us and we‘re looking forward to discovering with you every happy snapshot from the newlyweds.!

“Colin and Nicole met in Morristown, NJ on Halloween weekend in 2012. Nicole was out celebrating with friends, bar hopping in their holiday costumes. Meanwhile, Colin was having dinner with his family in honor of his mother’s birthday. After dinner, not yet ready to head home, Colin decided to go out for a drink and watch the revelers. He saw Nicole outside one of the bars and she immediately caught his eye. After striking up a conversation, Colin offered to buy Nicole and her and her friends a round at one of the local pubs. They quickly connected over a love of music (who is better, the Beatles or the Stones?). They ended their night over a plate of empanadas, shared a kiss, and exchanged phone numbers. A hurricane struck the next weekend, resulting in a 2-week power outage, but they continued chatting and sharing pictures of the destruction around their homes. A few weeks later, they were able to reconnect in person for their first true date. We were on vacation in 2021, taking a road trip around the southern United States. While in North Carolina, we hiked the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi River, Mount Mitchel. Colin proposed to Nicole overlooking the Appalachian Mountains alongside their dog, Ringo”, Nicole shared with us.
“My dress was a crepe wedding dress in ivory with lace from the hips up. A Grecian style on the spaghettis straps that had pearls and crystals down my shoulders. Accompanied with a long train that matched the pearls, crystals, and lace. I did not wear a vale, because my train was so long”.
“We wanted to keep to the rustic feel of the village and venue itself. So lots of green and white with natural textures and simplicity. Nicole’s bouquet was mostly eucalyptus with touches of her favorite color orange mixed in with in the roses and mums. The best decoration honestly was the natural stone of the venue and ruins all around and the beautiful floral throughout”.
“The moments alone with the photographer were our favorite. Such fun moments captured in photos for us the treasure forever! Not to mention jumping into bushes for some of the best pictures!”
Bride’s advice: “Start looking at venues as soon as possible, they book up fast. Once the venue is selected start looking into all the paperwork needed for a destination wedding! You don’t want to get caught the week before scrambling and not able to get everything you need. And, for the bride, if you are going to have a summer wedding, make sure the material of your dress is light and breathable! Lastly, if you are booking a wedding 5,000+ miles away, realize some things are out of your control. You likely can’t visit the venue multiple times, sample the food, see the décor in person, or all the other things you might do if having a local wedding. Let go! Trust your planner and your vendors. They do this all the time. Embrace the uncertainty and enjoy yourself knowing you are going somewhere beautiful for a once in a lifetime celebration”.
