Susan and Valerie’s beautiful destination wedding in Athens is just another reason why we love vivid and bright colors! The sweet pair chose to tie the knot at the dreamy location of Island Art & Taste in Athens with the breathtaking natural view as a background. They wanted a party wedding, with no stress, lots of fun and a sense of vacation. Their families and friends traveled from all over the world to celebrate this special day and have holidays at the same time. Both ceremony and reception settings were adorned perfectly with amazing floral designs and garlands with many colorful flowers by Rosetta Eventi! The pretty decoration matched beautifully with the greenery landscape and together, they created the dreamiest wedding setup!
“We met online almost 22 years ago, before dating apps started popping up. Our first date was in San Francisco for drinks, dinner, and dancing. We’ve been together ever since. Susan proposed to me on our sailboat in Alameda, California in October 2018. I had no idea it was coming. She had champagne and a rose waiting and then asked me to marry her.”
“The ceremony took place in Vouliagmeni, Athens at Island Art & Taste. We decided to have our wedding in Greece right after Susan proposed. Neither of us had been to Greece, so it was going to be an adventure for both of us. Susan’s family is in Dublin, Ireland, so we wanted a location that was easy for them to get to. Susan found a great wedding planner in Athens and he suggested Island Art & Taste.”
“The flowers for the bouquets, tables, wedding arch, and other vases were lovely. They were pink, cream, yellow, red, with greenery.”
“We really had no concept or style. We just wanted to have a fun, no stress, ceremony in a setting where friends and family could vacation and celebrate with us. We had guests coming from Ireland, Italy, Paris, California, Washington, DC, and London, so we wanted to make it a vacation for everyone. The flowers were beautiful, the tables and settings were lovely, and the venue was amazing.”
“The best moment of our wedding was the actual ceremony with all of our friends and family together and the scenic background behind us”.
“We both wore ivory, tea length dresses. Susan’s dress had 3/4 length sleeves while mine had spaghetti straps at the back of the dress. One thing that sold me on my dress was that it had pockets!”
Bride’s advice: “Find a good wedding planner and let them do their job! Our wedding planner, Pasaris John at Wedding in Greece was fantastic. It was much less stressful once we stepped back and let him take over. He did a great job!”
