I made a basic MMF recipe HEREand colored it orange. Roll the fondant out so that it is smooth and about 1/4 in thick

Lay it out over the cake and smooth it out.

I use a pizza cutter to cut around the cake

I used a fondant tool to make the lines in the fondant to resemble a basketball.

With gel food coloring, I colored in the lines.
