This time, collectors can mint one of the 250 careers that Barbie dolls have had over the decades. Totally, there will be 15,000 collectibles aiming to encourage girls all over the world to turn their dreams into reality.
What is the new Boss Beauties x Barbie NFT drop about?
In the current year, Barbie is going to celebrate the International Day of the Girl greatly. Along with Boss Beauties, the brand releases a series of 15,000 NFTs on the official Mattel Creations website.
Thus, the collectibles honor the 250 careers of Barbie dolls since the initial products released in 1959. From chefs to astronauts to soccer players, this drop was created with one clear goal in mind: to prove to girls in the world that they can anything be.
Plus the drop itself, the two brands will donate $125,000 to the Barbie Dream Gap Project, that provides resources to educate and back young girls. Another $125,000 will go to the Boss Beauty Foundation to provide scholarships and mentorship for young women.
Did Barbie release any other NFTs?
If you are a Barbie fan or only want to back the concept, you are lucky: the legendary brand currently has two NFT drops available.
For instance, Barbie cooperated with none other than Balmain for a 1-of-1 NFT drop in January. Just three months later, the company also released its initial partnership with Boss Beauties. Interestingly, that drop donated all of its proceeds to the Barbie Dream Gap project.
