Banahaw Heals Spa Review

By Robin Salvador @vinzsalvador23

As an adventurous person doing a lot of activities that requires physical strength, pampering myself is my go-to zone. Aside from eating ramen, twice or thrice a month in a spa is one of my favorite things to do to spoil myself.

Banahaw Heals Spa: A Place to Relax your Soul

Four years ago, I discovered their very first branch in my hometown in Biñan City, I tried their 5-in-1 combination massage and since I'm satisfied with their service, I applied for a lifetime membership to get a discount every time I avail of their services. The best thing about their membership card is that you can use it in every branch nationwide. Here's the list of their services and the discount you will get when you're a member.

Banahaw Heals Spa Review

I already tried having a massage at their different branches, namely Muntinlupa, San Pedro, Las Piñas, Paranaque and recently in their newly opened 4th branch, in my hometown alone, in Biñan City. I tried other Spas but you can really differentiate the best kind of service and whatnot. So far, Banahaw Heals Spa is far way ahead from the other spas. They have a very professional well-trained therapist, and it's an accommodating and relaxing place.

Banahaw Heals Spa - Olivares Branch

Three weeks ago, I discovered their newly opened branch in Olivares, Binan City. I tried my all-time favourite, the 5-in-1 Healing Massage. The components of their signature 5-in-1 massage are Thai Massage, Swedish, Hilot, Shiatsu and Tuina.

THAI MASSAGE is an ancient/traditional massage based on ayurveda and yoga originally from India. The technique combines massage with yoga-like positions during the course of the massage.

SWEDISH MASSAGE on the other hand uses five styles of long, flowing strokes to massage. The five basic strokes are effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber) and vibration or shaking. Swedish massage has shown to be helpful in reducing pain, joint stiffness, and improving function in patients with osteo-arthritis of the knee over a period of eight weeks. It has also been shown to be helpful in individuals with poor circulation.

HILOT is a traditional healing technique from the Philippines that also includes massage techniques. The massage techniques relax stressed muscles. Hilot also includes joint manipulations to help relax stressed muscles. It encompasses a wide variety of techniques beyond the treatment of stressed muscles. Hilot can be used to reset sprained joints, diagnose and treat musculoligamentous and musculoskeletal ailments.

SHIATSU (shi meaning finger and atsu meaning pressure) is a Japanese therapy that uses pressure applied with thumbs, fingers and palms to the same energy meridians as acupressure and incorporates stretching. It also uses techniques such as rolling, brushing, vibrating, grasping. Pressure is sometimes also applied with the feet on the person's back, legs and feet.

TUINA is a hands-on body treatment that uses Chinese taoist and martial art principles to bring the body to balance. The practitioner may brush, knead, roll/press and rub the areas between each of the joints (known as the eight gates) to open the body's defensive (wei) chi and get the energy moving in the meridians as well as the muscles. The practitioner can then use range of motion, traction, massage, with the stimulation of acupressure points; this is claimed to treat both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, as well as many non-musculoskeletal conditions.

Also, they have given me a card wherein they will put one sticker on it every time I avail of their services to have a discount on the original price. As a conclusion, Banahaw Heal Spa is a great place to relax your mind, body and soul. And since right now, I'm working and living here in Makati City, I found another Banahaw Heals Spa branch near in my condominium and I'll definitely try it out.
