Ballet Inspired Wrap Top // Part One

When I was growing up, my dream was to become a Prima Ballerina. I drew ballerinas. My room was pink. I loved to dance. Even my wedding dress was a big fluffy tulle thing! Now, ballet-inspired pieces are a trend, and I'm loving every minute of it!

The Ballet trend is everywhere and can be found as a very literal translation or more figuratively. Take these Valentino ballet flats which look like you could have stepped right off the stage from a performance. But what I'm loving the most are all of the inspired pieces from the wrap tops to the tulle skirts (more of that very soon).

As you may have guessed, I found this wrap top at Target on a formula run. Tell me again why I don't own stock in Target?! Anyhow, I loved the simplicity of it and the fact that it could be dressed up for work or worn casually.

I wore this outfit to run errands one day. Flare jeans are my favorite and tend to make shorties like me look taller. The flower choker was a last minute add-on, but I like the feminine touch. (It's sold out online but an easy alternative would be to pin a flower brooch on to a black choker or just tie black grosgrain ribbon into a bow and secure with a flower pin.)

THE STYLE Rx: The Ballet trend is easy to master. A simple wrap top can be worn casually with jeans or dressed up with a flare skirt for work.

So would YOU wear the ballet trend? And which piece would you wear?

BTW, I'm wearing some earrings by Sugarfix, a Baublebar collaboration with Target. Now, that's another thing to tempt me at Tarjay. I should probably wear special sunglasses that only allow me to see the items I need to buy at Target! LOL!

Happy Monday Friends! I had the best time in Scottsdale for my friend's 40th celebration. It was just enough time to get caught up on sleep and have some fab girl time but not too long to be away from the family. Now that I'm done with trips, it's time to get ORGANIZING!!!
