Ballet Inspired Tulle Skirt // Part Two

This is Part Two of my Ballet Trend Inspired Looks featuring this beautiful blush pink tulle skirt. When I said that I was obsessed with being a ballerina, I was serious. My obsession even continued into college when I took Ballet I classes multiple times for the physical education credit. (I repeated Ballet I because I never quite get the pirouette! I even dreamt about it!!! LOL!) CLICK HERE if you missed Part One // The Wrap Top.

The wrap top is an easier trend to adopt because it's pretty simple. However, when you wear a tulle skirt, you definitely get noticed. It is a very literal translation of a ballet skirt.

Since it's so "sweet", I paired the skirt with an edgy moto jacket to balance it. These butterfly heels were begging me to get out of the closet, so how could I resist? It was the finishing touch on my edgy ballerina look!

You'd be surprised at how many different ways you can wear a tulle skirt! 1) For a casual look, wear it with a denim shirt tied at the waist and sneakers. 2) Go all out girly with a top knot, striped tee, and ballet flats. 3) Channel you inner Carrie (of SATC) with a knit top, statement earrings, and killer heels.

THE STYLE Rx: Conquer the ballet trend with a fun and whimsical tulle skirt. You can go for a simple one (like I have on) or a fuller skirt (for dramatic effect)! You'll feel like a dancer even you don't know the different between an adagio and arabesque!

So do YOU own a tulle skirt or would you ever wear one? I was OBSESSED with the Lanvin x H&M tulle dress that came out in 2010 and toyed with the idea of wearing a tulle dress/skirt ever since. Actually, my wedding dress was a ginormous strapless tulle dress and I LOVED wearing it every second! That was in 2003, so I don't know why it took me so long to actually get one! Ha!
