"Baked After Pesach", Before Pesach

By Gldmeier @gldmeier
This picture was sent to me on Friday... it is of a package of bread crumbs, with the hechsher of the Badatz Eida. The breadcrumbs were purchased that same day - Friday April 4, 2014. If you look at the label, it says near the bottom that they were baked after Pesach, April 22, 2014.
Obviously there is something wrong with the labeling. April 11, 2014 is a date that is in the future, so the crumbs could not have been baked after that date. As well, April 11, 2014 is still before Pesach.
Kashrut labels need to be correct and clear. Is this making two separate statements, one being the expiry date of April 22 2014, and the other that it was baked after [last] Pesach? Maybe. If that's what happened, the label is not not clear enough. It looks like a bad mislabeling, and it looks like the products that will be sold after Pesach marked with the [fairly new chumra] of baked or ground after Pesach is all made-up.
Whatever the story really is, they need to do a better job on their labels.
