Wattegama Police has arrested a Constable of Menikhinna Police who fled without paying for several items he bought for Rs.19,000 from the Sathosa outlet in Medawala.
The Deputy Manager of the Sathosa outlet had complained to the Wattegama Police Station about the Police officer who bought goods and ran away without paying.
Accordingly, Wattegama Police officers conducted an investigation regarding the officer and arrested him on Sunday at his residence in Menikhinna Atalahagoda.
This suspect Police officer was released on a surety bail of Rs.500,000 after being produced in Courts.
