I don’t really write much on this blog, but I’ve found a lot more time on my hands since I retired, so I’m going to start. Retirement wasn’t necessarily a result of some core-shaking article in the New York Times, or biological alarm, or a realization that I really wasn’t saving any lives with obnoxious gold hoop earrings and inappropriate hem lengths (this last point could be debated, but that’s another post). I was just really really tired.
The questions I get the most usually center around what I’m doing with all my free time. The truth is, not so much. I make my own coffee. I take inventory of the regulars in my neighborhood. I annoy Violet. I eat some ice cream. I make lists. Then I take a nap and have a cocktail. Trying to be okay with not filling every hour with a productive goal completed is a task in itself. What would Elizabeth Taylor do? Not learn CSS code, that’s for sure. These next weeks I’m going to do me, beginning with this list:
Some things I’ve gotten into this morning: seltzer water, chaise lounges, reading entire articles in magazines, corn tortillas, not getting annoyed at the weather, succulents, a new friendship with my laundry lady, box fans.

I <3 AJ, and she really would look fab in that one piece.
