Where I Watched It: AMC Plus

I think I’ve seen this movie somewhere else with audio description before, but when it floated onto AMC Plus (likely through Shudder), I figured I’d see what’s up. It’s an independent survival thriller where people decide to go camping when they know very little about it and have zero survival instincts. These films would be far more entertaining with survivalists as protagonists. But, it’s basically pointless without audio description.
Not that there’s a ton of dialogue, but there is some. That’s really all you get. That plus some sound effects and screaming, and the weirdest bear noises ever. If you showed up for the gore when a bear attacks a human, you just get that screaming and sound effects I mentioned. There are scenes with people trying to escape, to no avail, either because of the bear or the wild, and it’s hard to figure out what’s going on without the description.
This is one of my watches for Spooky Season (Halloween), and I was trying to tackle every streamer. So far, AMC Plus’s entry isn’t so hot, especially since it lacks audio description.
Final Grade: Unwatchable
