After the Art Trail open studio weekends were over, I went back to work on this commissioned painting based on one I did a number of years ago called My Little Buttercup. This one, however, is a different shape and in different colors.
In this session, I painted over the background in three shades from pale light violet in the center to a darker blue-violet on the edges. I made the overall shape an uneven swirl to match the circular, swirling nature of this design.
Then I drew flower patterns on each of the colored circles in parchment, unbleached titanium, pink, light magenta, and lime green. These will have to dry before I can fill them in.
