Baan Napha Sap – Sukhumvit 36 – 4,000 Baht Condo

By Harvie

Between interviewing girls who perform BDSM in Bangkok and calling out white knights, I like to do some apartment hunting to keep the readers of my blog happy. The other week I came across a pretty shit hole near Thong Lo BTS and thought I would blog about it.

This luxury condo is placed on Sukhumvit 36 and once you're at the foot of the Soi, it will be on Napa Soi 1.

To get here you walk down Sukhumvit 36 and as soon as you see the Vientiane Kitchen restaurant you take a right. You keep walking down the road until you're presented with a decision to turn left or right. You turn right and the condo will be on your right hand side.

It looks more like a house with a huge overgrown tree at the front but just walk in and ask to see a room.

Bann Napha Sap Room

I am not sure how big the room is in sq meters but I would guess around 12-15sq meter. The room itself was quite basic, nothing smelled or looked off but it's not a place I would want to spend several hours of the day in. The room had aircon and the bed looked like it came from a used porn set. I didn't see any bugs, the room was fairly clean and livable.

The room did have an en-suite but I didn't ask if they supplied hot water, they have WiFi which they said was free but I would need to tell him to switch it on when I wanted to use it. Uw0tm8?

Prices

A Thai friend of mine actually found it. They said they were quoted 3,500 baht for a unfurnished room and 4,000 baht for a fully furnished room. I walked in a few days later asking to see the same room and they quoted me 5,000 baht. Uw0tagainm8?

Anyway it's safe to assume they just make up numbers on the spot. If you're interested in staying here and are so poor you need to shave 1,000 baht off ( I would) - go get a Thai girl to inquire first and ask about prices, then go in again with her and book it.

They want the usual two months deposit + 1 month advancement in rent (this is standard in Bangkok).

How to get there

The area was very quite and would take you around 7 minutes to walk to from Thong Lo BTS. When you go looking for this room there is an extremely high chance you can't follow my simple instructions, will get lost and leave me a comment below.

So just do this instead: ask one of the motosi drivers at the start of Sukhumvit 36 to take you to Baan Napha Sap. It will only cost you 10 baht.

For 4,000 baht this room is super cheap and the location is awesome. You're very close to all the Bangkok nightlife, walking distance to Soi 38 food market, have a gym not to far away and everything you could want. The room is a bit of a dive but if you're the budget traveler you may find comfort here.
