A Maserati-driving, 25-year-old South Coast resident is facing several charges for his role in allegedly running a drug syndicate worth millions of dollars on the dark web.
Cody Ward is being charged by Australian authorities for multiple offenses, including importing cocaine, ecstasy and ketamine-all amounting to $17 million.
New South Whales police arrested Ward at his Callala Beach residence back in February.
The arrest was effected after investigators gathered compelling evidence of Ward's alleged drug business that thrived on the dark web.
After his arrest, Ward was charged with four counts of drug offenses, including knowingly directing a criminal group's activities and consciously handling crime proceeds.
Earlier this month, Ward received six more charges of drug importation.
During a raid at his South Coast home, police were able to seize around $80,000 in cash, a Mercedes Benz, a Maserati, mobile phones, a vacuum sealer and cocaine powder amounting to 2.5 kilograms.
Xanax, LSD tablets, and other pills whose identity is yet to be determined were also seized during the raid.
Sisters Shanese Koullias and Patricia Koullias, alleged accomplices to Ward's darknet drug operation, also received drug charges from authorities.
After the arrests earlier this year, the NSW Crime Commission won a bid to freeze all assets belonging to the defendant. The Koullias sisters also faced the same ramifications.
