July 20th marked the 1st anniversary of the terrible shooting at an Aurora, Colorado theater. Kristin Davis and Eugene Han were injured in the shootings. Eugene was more severely injured as he tried to protect his girlfriend from the spray of bullets. Their recovery, both physical and mental, is ongoing.
Eugene, 21, never really thought of getting married. But after his near-death experience a new-found urgency to live in the moment arose within him. In April, during a vacation in Texas, he proposed to Kristin. After much discussion the pair decided to marry on July 20th. Kristin initially worried that their wedding date would be insensitive. Eugene thought it was the perfect way to reclaim the day.
The couple married this past weekend. I think if they really wanted to get married they should get married whenever they want. I think it’s nice they want to reclaim the day from their shooter. This way he or any wacko will never and forever claim the lives of his victims and their families.
What do you think?
Do you think it was insensitive?
