FollowWith the end of summer and the new school year upon us, I’m feeling a renewed energy for advocacy. August held an exciting milestone, because Words I Wheel By had its one-year blogiversary. And now, it’s already time for my monthly round-up again. As always, I highly suggest pinning or bookmarking the round-up so you can come back to it whenever you have a few spare moments. Let me know what interested you the most, and if you think I missed anything!

- 5 Reasons Why Going on a Date With That Disabled Dude Will Totally Be Worth It – A fun and poignant read on dating and disabilities by a great advocate.
- I Don’t Need Your Awareness – This is a crucial read to understand why attempts at “awareness” just don’t cut it.
- Am I Obligated To Disclose My Invisible Disability? – Disclosing disabilities can be such a complex issue. Should you do it? Should you keep it to yourself? It’s a very personal decision, but here’s one take on it.
- Comedian Francesca Martinez: ‘I’ve accepted my cerebral palsy – now I’m calling on others to join the revolution’ – This is a really fresh, honest, and entertaining read on self-acceptance.
