Verdict on Audrey

Recap

The movie follows a self-appointed mother of the year trying to keep her teenage daughter’s bright future alive. It sees her pretending to be her daughter in an acting class and learning more about what her children really want from her.

Best Parts

The movie uses the dysfunctional family idea nicely and shows the chaotic demands they all want in life. We get performances that fit perfectly for the characters too. The movie gets to point out the problems with certain overreactions that people don’t understand.

Worst Parts

The dysfunction can have comedy, but it can also be a bit too farfetched at times. It tries to offend with certain moments, which might rub people the wrong way.

Final ThoughtsAudrey doesn’t hold back on getting laughs in some of the more sensitive subjects.
