An investigation will be held on a request made by Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera to investigate regarding the purchase of coal, the Chairman of the Committee on Public Finance, MP Dr. Harsha de Silva said.
Minister Wijesekera in a letter to Dr. Harsha De Silva requested for an investigation into the allegations regarding the tender for the purchase of coal. Accordingly, the Auditor General will commence the investigation into the purchase of coal soon. De Silva had also met the Attorney General and the Power and Energy Ministry Secretary in this regard.
