Users on social media have reported that they are receiving international calls from the numbers +84 (code for Vietnam), +62 (country code for Indonesia) and +223 (code for Mali). These mostly include numbers from South-East Asian countries. At the moment it is not clear whether these calls are coming from those countries or scammers are using these fake numbers. Experts related to cyber security say that such international numbers are easily bought.
What is WhatsApp International Call Scam?
A user has informed through Twitter that he had received a WhatsApp call from a similar international number some time ago. On receiving the phone, it was learned that he had received a call from Vietnam for a work-from-home job. HR offered him to earn money by liking videos on Youtube, in which he was being given Rs 50 for every like. He was promised to earn up to Rs 10,000 per day by liking the video.
