Sri Lanka Athletics (SLA) celebrates its centenary year and to mark the celebrations, a book launch ceremony was held at the Sports Ministry Museum Auditorium yesterday. In the picture, SLA President Major General Palitha Fernando (third from left) is handing over the “100 years of Sri Lanka Athletics” book to former Sri Lankan Olympian marathoner Wimalasena Perera.
SLA Secretary Prema Pinnawala (left) and Official Recorder of SLA Saman Kumara Gunawardana, the man behind the success of the centenary athletic book (right), are also in the picture. The centenary National Athletic Championship will commence from today at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium Diyagama.
