At The Ferry Building Farmer’s Market

I love the Ferry Building. I love the artisan food producers, the great coffee, the organic products, the unique variety of treats you can find there, the wonderful wine, the list could go on and on. I could wander around there and get lost for hours – and I have! But one thing I love most is Saturday Mornings, when the Farmer’s Market comes to the Ferry Building in San Francisco.

When my sister & brother in law and my two nephews were visiting us, we took them to the Ferry Building for a Saturday morning outing. I went a little crazy taking pictures – the organic fruits, vegetables, and amazing food was too hard to resist! Here are some of my favorites, think of it as a photolog and your virtual tour of one of the coolest spots in SF

Nothing beats the fresh produce! Oh and the pears from Frog Hollow Farms are the best.

So are their preserves and olive oils!

Fruits and veggies abound…

I love the free samples at the Farmer’s Market!

That pizza from Hayes Street Grill was so good that we bought a whole one for ourselves. Cornmeal crust, cheese, tomatoes. The husband (who loves pizza) was very happy. So was I – it was delicious.

We also got a green smoothie and these amazing pumpkin and white cheddar tamales

It’s what I like to call “upscale” street food – because it looks like street food, but it tastes like something you’d get at a great restaurant.

After lunch, I proceeded to go picture happy while everyone else finished up their food. These flowers were especially eye-catching.

And we bought some of these strawberries which were amazingly sweet!

Then we made our way inside the ferry building where we found some of the best baked goods imaginable.

We bought a chocolate cherry walnut cookie and an apple turnover that reminded me of our trip to Paris.

Before we left, we picked up some apples from the Frog Hollow Bakery

And tasted a couple more samples before we headed home for the day.

As we were walking out of the ferry building, I couldn’t help but notice how iconic a building it is. The architecture is beautiful, and the backdrop of the Bay Bridge against it is so classic. I hope you enjoyed this virtual trip, and I hope you get a chance to visit the ferry building if you ever are in SF!
