Finance State Minister Shehan Semasinghe said that the Aswesuma programme received around 30,000 new applications in the first 12 days of the second phase.
He stated this while attending a workshop on unemployment held at the Sri Lanka Development Administration Institute.
The State Minister mentioned that almost 2 million people are already receiving the benefits and under the second phase, the aim is to provide relief to another 2.4 million people with new applicants.
