Asus Zenfone 8 has been confirmed to be launch on 12 May. It is the successor of the Zenfone 7 which was launched back in September last year. Recently, A smartphone from the Zenfone 8 series spotted on Geekbench and TUV Rheinland certification as well.
Asus Zenfone 8 launch date confirmed
Asus all set to launch the successor of the Zenfone 7 series. Today, The Taiwanese tech company added a microsite on its official website with a countdown which confirmed that Asus Zenfone 8 is ready to make its debut on 12 May in New York, Berlin & Taipei. It means it could be the global launch of the device.
Further, The microsite also hinted that the upcoming flagship from Asus will be Compact in Size and Big on Performance. Nonetheless, It is not yet confirmed it could be the launch of a single device or the entire Zenfone 8 series. As per the previous reports, Asus Zenfone 8 series will include three devices – Asus Zenfone 8, 8 Pro & 8 mini.
According to the earlier reports, Zenfone 8 mini has is codenamed as Sake and its model number is SUS_ZS590KS / ASUS_I006D. It is expected to feature a 5.92-inches OLED FHD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) resolution display with a 120Hz fast refresh rate. The Geekbench listing revealed that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset and may couple with 16GB of RAM. On the other hand, The TUV Rheinland certification unveiled that it may pack 30W rapid charging. The ZenFone 8 Mini may feature a Sony IMX686 64-megapixel camera or a new Sony IMX663 camera in terms of optics. The device is also rumoured to arrive with a Cirrus CS35L45 amplifier.
Further, The second device in the Zenfone 8 series lineup is said to be codenamed Picasso and it has an ASUS_ZS672KS / ASUS_I004D model number. It may arrive with a 6.67-inch OLED FHD+ 120Hz refresh rate screen, could be powered by Snapdragon 888 chipset and may couple with 16 GB of RAM, might include 64-megapixel (Sony IMX686) + 12.2-megapixel (Sony IMX363) + 8-megapixel telephoto (OmniVision) triple camera system, and a 24-megapixel (OV24B1Q) selfie camera.
Lastly, The third smartphone in the Zenfone 8 series could be codenamed VODKA and it has an ASUS_Z5675KW / ASUS_I007D model number. Coming to the specs, It is rumoured to come with a 6.7-inches display and could be equipped with a Snapdragon 888.
However, The Taiwanese tech company has not shared any further information about the Zenfone 8 yet but the launch date is not too far. So, you may expect some more details will come out in the coming days.
